Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. The Cyrus siblings comprise two half-brothers and half sisters, and a younger brother, sister and a half-sister. The parents named their daughter Miley in the hope to see her achieve a lot. Miley was her name in the early years because of the jovial nature of Miley. Her father was a Democratic politician named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus was the first student at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. After she was eight years old and her family relocated into Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus' father Billy Ray took a role in the TV drama Doc (2001). Cyrus decided to get into acting around this time. The film Doc (2001) in which she was a part of the family with her father. She also starred in a minor character in Tim Burton's Big Fish. In 2005, Cyrus was cast as the main character on Hannah Montana, a Disney show Hannah Montana (2006), featuring a teenage girl living an alternate life of an aspiring pop singer. The actress was joined by her father again. The performance was huge and record sales, sell-out tours and merchandise deals followed. Cyrus quickly became a popular teenage sensation. Cyrus started to play different roles after her popularity as Hannah Montana (2006). These included playing Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song 2010, 2010) as well as Lola (in LOL (2012)), alongside Demi Moor.
